La Roche

Stone and wood blend in perfect harmony with nature

In the old village of La Saxe, inside a completely renovated building, a skilful renovation work gave life to a warm home in which the wood alternates with the local stone producing an extremely refined result. Following a precise linear planning style focused especially on the wood, each room is characterized by a decorative continuity. Starting from the geometric plan, the rock is the leitmotiv of the house (that’s why it’s called “La Roche”) and you can also find it in the kitchen area, where it was left in plain view intentionally.

Fir boards taken from old floors and haylofts’ exterior wainscots have been reused, after the disinfection and a very accurate brushing, to renovate the house following the idea of keeping the old wood and creating new shapes with it. To add charm and comfort, a stone fireplace has been created in a corner of the living area recycling the original stones which were taken from the old house, to pay tribute to the ancient builders’ hard work. The warm fabrics and the enchanting curtains that frame the wonderful view that you can enjoy from the living area,  complete the project and characterize its atmosphere.
